Spring has come! The Earth is now in perfect balance of darkness and light.
During the Spring & Autumn Equinox, the length of day and night is nearly equal in all parts of the world. While the spring days in the Northern Hemisphere are growing longer, those in the Southern Hemisphere are entering the autumn season of darkness.
The energy of rebirth and sudden change is all around us. What has been buried in darkness may now come to light. New ideas, new perspectives and new chapters are sprouting from within.
Tonight’s Full Moon is particularly intense because it perfectly coincides with the Equinox. The last time the Full Moon was on this blessed Equinox day was in March of 1981! A little tidbit history lesson here - that same year, within 48 hours of the Autumn Equinox, the very first woman (Sandra Day O’Connor) served on the United States Supreme Court. Whether you agreed with her politics or not, she broke the glass ceiling. Change is coming yet again. In fact, change is already here…
Tonight’s Full Moon is also a Supermoon, the third of the 3 intense Supermoons in a row! A Supermoon is a Full moon that occurs when the moon is at its closest point to Earth in its monthly cycle around the Earth. The moon will appear quite a bit larger tonight. You will notice you have an unusually high number of projects, promises and obligations around this time. Time will feel like it’s running out - but that is merely an illusion. The Supermoon is also a time when the tidal forces within our own body and the ocean tides will be emphasized – so emotions are likely to be heightened. .
This has been quite a horrible Mercury Retrograde…it seems as though everyone has been impacted by travel (especially the Boeing tragedy) and technology issues (Boeing - again. FB and IG went down. Our website server crashed 2x this month, etc.).
Want some good news? Mercury goes direct in 8 days! Within about 3 weeks, the post-shadow will fade entirely. What to do in the meantime? Spend time at home, clean out your closets and focus on your mental health. Very few successful left-brained constructive projects or ideas ever launch during Mercury Retrograde, so if you haven't given yourself some down time in a while, now is the perfect opportunity to do so!
Take out your calendar and mark down the Dark Moon on April 5th. It falls on a Friday, so please carve out some time to do a Dark Moon Banishing Ritual. Get the stale, unproductive energies out! This upcoming Dark Moon ideal from both intense Banishing Rituals, as well as Agrimony Baths or Cedar Smudge & Coffin Nail smoke rituals (also great for the home!).
But for now...turn off the TV, make yourself a cup of tea (or a glass of wine) and enjoy the changing of the season.
Wishing you all a blessed Equinox!
Love & Magick,
Keep in mind...
Astrological events are similar to acts of weather. Some people choose to dance in the wind and the rain. Others stay indoors. Your reaction, your mental attitude and your choice of thoughts will create your own experience and outcome.
